Kingswear School Front

At last our Ofsted inspection report has been published. Kingswear Primary school has been graded GOOD in all areas. We are all immensely proud of this achievement.

Welcome to Kingswear Community Primary School

Welcome to Kingswear Primary School and thank you for your interest in our wonderful school.

Over the last eight years our school has grown from under 30 to 76, from two classes to four. We primarily serve the Parish of Kingswear including Hillhead but also welcome children from Brixham, Dartmouth and Torbay.

We are a small school and thats what makes us great! We work closely with our parents and community to make this a family school.

The last two Ofsted inspections have graded us Good in all areas and in Behaviour we have been graded Outstanding on both occasions.Obviously we are striving for Outstanding and I firmly believe we are on the road to achieving this.  Our location is not the easiest to access and our playground is not very big but we dont let that bother us. We use our beautiful environment as much as possible. We have a fabulous school field with its own pavillion and a piece of farm land which we have converted into class gardens , and a camping area. We have a very strong outdoor philosophy.

Our attainment at both Key Stages is Good . Our results in 2012 were Good with our Reading attainment Outstanding. When our children leave at the end of Year six they are spoilt for choice. Brixham Community College, Dartmouth Academy and Churston Grammar School (75% 11+ success this year).

I am really proud to be Headteacher of Kingswear, of what we have achieved and of what we can achieve in the future. This is a very exciting place to be but dont take my word for it ! Come and visit and see for yourself. Our children would love to show you around.

Dartmouth Indoor Athletics

Yesterday a number of our KS2 children represented the school at the Dartmouth Primary Indoor Athletics Championship, competing against Dartmouth Academy, St. John the Baptist R.C.Primary and Stoke Fleming Primary. Our talented athletes were once again a credit to the school, demonstrating fantastic leadership skills and exemplary behaviour. Well done, we are all very proud of you.

Kent's Cavern Trip

Just before Christmas, the FSU and Class Orca went on an exciting trip to Kent's Cavern. Whilst on the trip the children went on an adventure to help Father Christmas rescue Christmas. When their mission was complete they all got to meet the man himself.
